History:
Elrond is the sun of Eärendil and Elwing. He was born in FA 532 in Beleriand. His homeland was destroyed by the Sons of Fëanor, and he and his twin brother, Elros, were captured. Elrond and Elros were taken up by the brothers Maglor and Maedrhos and eventually released by Maglor because he felt sorry for them.
After his release, Elrond traveled to Lindon, ruled by Gil-galad. The High King sent him to Eregion and Elrond had to flee there when it was destroyed during the War of the Elves and Sauron in the Second Age. He fled to Eriador where he founded Rivendell. It was around this time that Gil-galad gave Elrond one of the elvish Three Rings: Vilya.
It was near the end of the Second Age when the Last Alliance of Elves and Men marched to Mordor. Gil-galad and Elrond led the elven forces and Elendil led the men. It was during the Battle of Dagorlad that Isildur, Elendil's son, cut the One Ring from Sauron's hand. Elrond went in search of Isildur and brought him to Mount Doom to destroy the Ring but Isildur refused, already corrupted by its power.
Elrond returned to Rivendell and early during the Third Age married Celebrían, daughter of Celeborn and Galadriel. His twin sons were born soon after, Elrohir and Elladan, and then his only other child was born almost one hundred years later--his daughter Arwen Undómiel. He welcomed Bilbo and the thirteen dwarves into Rivendell and, decades later, welcomed a more diverse gathering to discuss the One Ring. At the Council it was decided that the only thing that could be done was to take the Ring back to Mount Doom and destroy it once and for all. The Fellowship was formed and Elrond sent them on their way to Mordor.
Appearance:
Elrond stands 6'2" tall. He looks neither old nor young but the sorrows and joys he's experienced in his long lifetime can often been seen on it. He has long, straight brown hair and blue eyes. He wears a circlet of silver over his brows and Vilya, one of the three elvish rings, is a ring of gold with a blue stone.
Weapons: Elrond's sword-wielding days have been over for a long time

Role Play Sample:
[From a site where I play Dr. Alan Grant from Jurassic Park!]
Alan was grateful that the other man wasn't going to argue with him on what they should do. And Alan was going to start doing just that when a stewardess joined their small company. He was grateful enough to see another person able to get up and walk around and even more grateful when he saw what the woman was holding. He didn't know anything about how much supplies one of those kits on a plane held, nor would it be useful in treating the more seriously injured, but it was a good start to at least have something to use.
"I'm a doctor," he answered the stewardess, "Just not the kind of doctor you're looking for." A paleontologist wasn't going to be of much use in a situation like this, unless some dinosaurs turned up again but like that was going to happen. As far as Alan knew Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna were the only two islands where scientists had gotten just a tad bit overconfident and decided to clone prehistoric creatures.
Not too long ago, Tim had been stuck in a jeep in a tree. Alan had managed to get the young boy out of that situation. Now he was the one stuck in a tree but this time in a plane, and the plane was still horizontal for the most part, which meant it wasn't likely to finish its descent to the ground anytime sooner, giving them plenty of time to try and get all of the passengers they could off of it in time. He watched Jace walk off to assess their situation further and then turned his attention back towards Ivory. "I'll start at the back of the plane and you can start at the front. We need to find everyone who are capable of being moved down to the ground."
He headed towards his stated position. Some of the passengers were clearly already gone and didn't need to be checked. Others had pulses that were barely there. And then there were others who seemed to be only temporarily unconscious, a coping mechanism from experiencing such great trauma in a short amount of time. Alan turned back around towards the others and was going to announce that he counted six people at the back that he thought were well enough to be moved.
However, Jace's voice stopped his mouth dead still. Surely Alan's brain interpreted what he had said wrong. He was stuck on an island that was more than likely very similar to the others he had been on so of course he was going to accidentally hear the word 'dinosaurs.' But he had to be sure. He hurried over to Jace's position and peeked out of the plane. Sure enough there were two Velociraptors standing down there with two human beings. The people might have been thrown out of the plane during the crash and had been lucky enough to have some soft vegetation cushion their fall. Of course, it appeared that their luck had run out right now.
Alan was used to this by now. It was like he had been inoculated against experiencing the shock that should have gone along with witnessing right before his eyes creatures that were supposed to be long extinct. If he felt anything it was a touch of anger. The men and women responsible for the disasters and Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna should have learned their lesson by now; but they hadn't. They had created another island that was just as deadly as the other two.
"Velociraptors," Alan said, "Those won't be the only two down there. Others will be hiding in the trees, waiting to spring their ambush on their prey the moment one of them tries to break free and run away." He knew just how crafty raptors could be. Even though their opposable thumbs meant that they were capable of climbing, Alan didn't think they had anything to worry about up here. After all, the raptors liked to eat their prey while they were still alive and kicking. Most of the people up here were deceased or incapable of putting up a good fight.
But those people were capable of doing just that and Alan was going to do all in his power to help them out. Moving his eyes from the people to the tree they found themselves nestled in, he spotted a hefty branch that looked like it was low enough for what he intended to do but he couldn't do it alone because, as soon as he grabbed one of humans down there, the other raptors would come out and snatch the other one before Alan could help them. "I have an idea," he announced to his two newfound companions. "But I'll need your help," he added, nodding in Jace's direction.
