Rivendell, the home of the elves and house of Elrond. It was once a flourishing city, filled with many many celebrations and stories. But now most of the elves have moved on and little remain. With the speaking of the ring found, a shadow falls over the land. You cross a bridge to get up into the city, there is the smithy and the grand hall where the broken blade that severed the ring from Sauron sits. Arwen also dwells here, giving her hope to men.

Bree is a small settlement where men dwell. You have to speak to the gate man to get into the settlement though before you can progress any further. Once in you will find the inn of the Prancing Pony, a place where you can rest, get some food and have a pint. There is also the stables where you can put your horse.

The mines of Moria is a underground tunnel of passages and great halls. Located below the Misty Mountains. It's where the dwarves once dwelled and also buried their dead in tombs. At the entrance there's a kraken who guards the way in, but if you speak friend in elvish the way will open. The dwarves are long dead and the city overrun with goblins. There is also the Balrog that dwells in fire and ash, and to get out of Moria you must figure out the the halls and many tunnels. Otherwise face the goblins and be killed.

The oldest forest in Middle Earth, also the home of the Ents. Herders of the forest and also allies to Saruman, that was until he started to cut down the forest and burn the wood. This forest is wonderful to walk through since the Ents usually keep to themselves, but pose any threat and you better watch out.

Isengard, the stronghold of Saruman the white wizard. What once was surrounded by the woods of Fangorn is now a breeding ground for Uruk-hai and orcs. Where weapons are made for his army to unleash upon the lands of Middle Earth. Saruman is allied with Sauron, the all seeing eye.

The realm of the Lady of the Wood, also known as Galadriel. She rules this wood with her husband Celeborn and live in a giant tree fortress, this land goes by many names that often refer to dreaming or dreams. Once you enter there is no going back, you can seek guidance from both the rulers and seek shelter here. Lothlorien also connects with the river of Anduin

Rohan the home of the horse lords and where Theoden resides. Eowyn his niece also resides here along with Eomer. His son was killed because of orders Grima gave. It's not a big city but the people hold their heads high and if war comes their way they flee to helms deep.

A place of ash and fire, where orcs reside behind a big heavy black gate. The orcs make camps on the rugged terrain while some reside in a tower. There is another tower where Sauron watches over the land with his eye, reaching out to destroy all of middle earth and find his ring.

Mirkwood was once a dense and heavy woodland that made up much of the eastern part of Rhovanion or the Wilderland, that has maintained its borders and relative shape for many ages. But a dark shadow came over the land and pushed the elves who called it home out, till they were diminished. Now dark and savage creatures roam here.

The dead marshes stretch over a vast area of dead land. It was here that the battle of Dagorlad happened, an ancient battle between elves, men and the dark army of Mordor and Sauron. Today there are tiny torches marking where many orcs, men and elves lay dead in the water of the marshes. Do not follow the lights or the tortured spirits will pull you in and drown you.
